Q&A: The Flinders Fringe Festival Inc. Partners & Supporters
The purpose of Flinders Fringe Festival Incorporated is to create arts events to unite and entertain the community and to showcase both recognised and emerging artists and new works across a variety of genres, which celebrate the diversity of the community and beauty of the natural environment; and acknowledges and pays respect to the traditional custodians of the sacred lands and waterways, the Bunurong/Boon Wurrung people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation and other First nations people living on the Mornington Peninsula. The Flinders Fringe Festival may donate to another charity or charities that provide cultural/creative programs for children and young people on the Mornington Peninsula.
The Flinders Fringe Festival has recently registered as a deductible gift recipient (DGR). This enables the FFF Inc to receive tax deductible donations/gifts. FFF Inc has established and registered a Cultural Fund with the ATO to receive donations and contributions.
What’s the difference between a gift (donation) and a contribution?
Broadly speaking a gift is a donation of money or property made voluntarily with no material benefit to the donor.
If you receive a material benefit – that is if the donor received something which has a monetary value from FFF Inc in return for your donations – the payment is called a contribution.
Festival Partners and Festival Supporters
Becoming a valued festival partner (with a contribution) or supporter (with a donation) will strength the creativity, cultural capacity and vitality of our communities on the Mornington Peninsula.
As a Festival Partner (with a non-tax deductible contribution) you will enjoy:
- Alignment with a trusted and respected brand
- Contribute to new creative works
- Boosting the local economy and employment opportunities in the region
- Employee engagement and volunteering opportunities
- Acknowledgement of your company on FFF Inc website
- FFF Inc will issue you a receipt in acknowledgment of the contribution
- Access to festival benefits such as:
o Invitations to fundraising events/dinner
o Invitations to Premier Festival Events, (this may include invitation to rehearsals, welcome party to meet the artists in which you can make a contribution)
o Name an event with your brand attached
If you are a business and support the FFF Inc through advertising or sponsorship this is generally not a gift. You may be able to claim a tax deduction as a business expense. You would need to contact the ATO to clarify these circumstances. FFF Inc are not able to provide advice regarding this.

- Acknowledgement on FFF Inc website that recognises your commitment to supporting the arts and our community which is at the heart of the festival
- Eligible for a tax deduction for any donation over $2
- FFF Inc will issue you a receipt to enable you to claim a deduction
No matter what type of contribution / donation (gift) you make, all are greatly appreciated and support the festival in several ways:
