Helen Kennedy Exhibition @ Quarters

Helen Kennedy - 2025 Flinders Fringe Artist in Residence
Helen Kennedy is a practicing artist and educator based in Melbourne. She primarily works in painting, drawing, photography, cyanotype and printmaking in the mediums of copper etching and monoprints.
The overarching subject of Helen’s practice revolves around the impacts of light and atmosphere on land and seascapes and nature more broadly. In exploring the relationships between light, colour and nature in her work, Helen uses a wide range of techniques and materials.
Helen’s work has been inspired by the light, sea and landscape of the Mornington Peninsula, having spent many years growing up in Flinders, sailing Western Port and foraging on Flinders’ ocean beach. Helen has practiced and exhibited for over twenty years in Australia and overseas. She lived in Europe for 5 years, working in printmaking studios in Paris which gave her the opportunity to develop her technical printmaking skills by working alongside master printers. During that time, she extensively exhibited her work in France and Germany.
Helen’s work is represented in national and regional galleries across Australia and in public and private collections in Europe and the Asia-Pacific.
Bachelor of Fine Art, Prahran College, Diploma of Education, University of Melbourne and Masters of Fine Art, National Art School, Sydney
